Room Descriptions

The INN on Trout River offers 11 artfully decorated guest rooms all complete with private bathrooms. Each room has been individually designed to represent the best of old and new Vermont, where stylish ski chalet meets sophisticated Victorian inn. From our luxurious and romantic Meadow Suite to our cozy Portland Room, The INN has something for everyone.

 

After a full day of adventuring in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom, come back to The INN to relax and unwind fireside in our cozy Lounge. Sip a cocktail, read a book, play a game, or just take a nap in front of our original 19th-century fireplace. Then, rejuvenate with a warm bath and enjoy the culinary delights of our on-site restaurant featuring local, organic ingredients, from either our dining room, tavern, or dining deck. Top it all off with your best night’s sleep in our overstuffed beds, and we promise you’ll be so comfortable that you might end up hitting snooze more than once!

The Oak Room​

With space for the family, a romantic getaway, or just yourself, fall back into the Oak Room’s two pillow-topped beds after experiencing all that the Northeast Kingdom has to offer. Light and airy with plenty of windows, the Oak Room provides distant mountain views right from bed, begging you to sit back, relax, and sip your freshly brewed coffee slowly, and ease into your day.

The Pine Room

Honest to its name, the Pine Room’s earthy tones, hand-stenciled trees and flowers, pine bed and ceiling will make you feel like you’re falling asleep among the evergreens. After catching first tracks or hiking through lush forests on the mountain, sink into your antique bathtub filled to the brim with soothing bath salts, throw on a plush robe, and melt into your warm king bed.

The Maple Room

Huge, wrap-around bay windows surrounded by local flora and fauna peaking in give the Maple Room one of the most charming ambiances on the property. Wake up to Vermont’s warm, natural light spilling into your room (blocked out of course while sleeping!) and start your day off on the right side. Whether you choose to lounge in your sunlit bed or bounce out, the Maple Room’s warm, treehouse vibes will have you ready for a fresh syrup-coated breakfast in no time.

As the largest accommodation, the Meadow Suite offers guests a vacation with ultimate luxury. After a long day outside, watch the sun dip behind the trees from the comfort of your bathtub, and on chilly nights, curl up in front of the wood-stove with a book, game, or great conversation. This rustic and elegant suite is calling for you to escape and make this space your own peaceful retreat.

The Hazen Room features birch and floral stencils, exposed ceiling beams, earthy tones, and, like any true mountain notch, offers excellent views of our lovely grounds and Little Jay Peak. Grab a glass of your favorite wine from the tavern and relax while catching the sunset from the comfort of The Hazen Room.
